For a traditional covered porch, I like to use traditional materials. Here we`ve got fir tongue and groove flooring that`s been pre-painted at the shop in order to cover all 4 sides prior to installation. That keeps the moisture out and will prevent the boards from cupping later. Here we also have solid fir stair treads, and #1 grade clear fir railings going in next week. This is the stuff that will last 100 years.

Husk is a design/build general contractor focused on residential building, remodeling and repair. Since opening 2019 we have completed over 250 projects, become A rated by the Better Business Bureau and become a certified pro contractor with trusted brands like Timbertech, Trex, Sylvanix and more.
I have a 30 year history in design, building and management and I am deeply inspired by the geography of the Pacific Northwest. I strive to bring a complimentary aesthetic into every project we do.
